The Weekly cycling training schedule is quite consistent throughout the year although the Macro Cycles will vary the emphasis, depending on the training period.  One important thing to keep in mind is to always do the higher intensity training early in the week before the lower intensity workouts.

If you are racing on Sunday, this is the typical training week for cycling.

  1. Monday: Rest and Recuperation day.
  2. Tuesday: Training Day. Train your sprints year round.
  3. Wednesday: Training Day. Anaerobic threshold training.
  4. Thursday: Training. Endurance Day.
  5. Friday: Rest and Recuperation Day or Off.
  6. Group Ride or Ride similar to Wednesday’s ride.
  7. Group Ride/Race/Long Endurance Ride
