Road bike tire pressure
Road bike tire pressure
Road bike tire pressure is achieved by choosing a setting that has very little to do with most manufacturer recommended tire pressure.
Set your tires at 90psi/6bars at the front and 95psi/6.5 bars at the rear. This setting allows the tires to soak up imperfections in the pavement at the same time giving you a very supple ride.
Unless the pavement is perfectly smooth is is actually not advantageous to run very high pressures. These imperfections in the pavement cause the tires to bounce which robs speed and forward momentum.
Not only do these tire pressures provide a more comfortable ride but they actually get the most out of the intended engineering of the tires.
