Replace Bicycle Chain
Replace bicycle chain
Replace bicycle chain when the wear has reached a point where the sprockets will begin to be worn down by continued use. The most dependable method of determining wear is by using a chain checker tool.
Park makes a chain checker tool CC-32 that has two sides a .5 wear indicator and a .75 wear indicator. If the chain tool falls into the link the .5 indicates it can continue to be used. The .75 side indicates that the chain must be replaced.
This is especially useful when you use multiple bikes and eliminates guessing on when to replace your chain.
You will need a chain tool to break the chain, like the Pedros Tutti multi Chain Tool:
- which handles chains from 11speed down to 8speed unlike its competitors
- and is priced better than its competitors
