Description
Anaerobic interval training cycling focuses on anaerobic capacity efforts which are used to increase a rider’s anaerobic capacity.
Why
To increase your anaerobic capacity. These are extremely intense efforts that are essential for track, road and cyclocross racers.
When
Late off-season.
Focus
- Quality is key; once you can no longer hit the required power, end the intervals.
- If you are not using power, note how far you go during the interval and, once that drops by more than 5-10%, end the set.
- Alternate between seated and standing to maintain the required intensity during anaerobic interval training cycling.
